Referring to the high-standard of this year’s entries, Martin Foran editor of Irish Hardware, said that this was a testament to the quality which is currently in evidence right across the trade.
‘This year we were again impressed by the excellence of each entry,’ said Foran.
‘We have seen in these awards, how, year-on-year, merchants have consistently raised their game. This makes the judges’ job a very difficult one.’
Judges remarked: ‘Cummins Homevalue s a hugely impressive store. The Homewares department shows an understanding of the current market. There is a wonderful mix of products and a huge awareness of trends which is vital in this area.
Martin Foran, explained how the Energy Retailer of The Year Category had been introduced to recognize efforts to meet current demands in this vital sector.
‘This is an area which is hugely important to customers and growing more so all the time,’ added Foran.
Judges felt that Glynns went the extra mile in the highly competitive category, noting that the store was ‘particularly friendly towards both ordinary householders and plumbers/specialists alike.’
